New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty (NZSIR) has revealed its acquisition of First National Real Estate Wānaka, effectively doubling the extent of its local operations.

The prominent real estate firm, which maintains a presence across 29 locations in New Zealand, is set to merge the NZSIR and First National teams, operating from the First National premises on Ardmore Street. Around 22 personnel, including 16 real estate agents, will be stationed at the new NZSIR office.

Julian Brown, co-founder and managing director of NZSIR, states that the timing is ideal to expand the Wānaka business and position the company favorably for the times ahead.

Brown explains, “We’ve been actively seeking an optimal site to accommodate our Wānaka team and ensure the resilience of our operations in the local market. The location and structure presented not only an ideal setup for our transition but also an exciting opportunity to acquire Quentin Landreth’s business and unite the First National and NZSIR Wānaka teams.”

He further emphasizes, “Wānaka has been undergoing substantial growth, with more to come. The amalgamation of the specialized proficiency and seasoned insight from these two teams enables us to consistently deliver top-tier service to property sellers in Wānaka.”

Who are the ‘MOVERS AND SHAKERS’ of the NZ real estate industry?

Former director of First National Wānaka, now a sales associate at NZSIR, Quentin Landreth, expresses his shift to full-time sales with enthusiasm.

Landreth shares, “This was an exceptional chance to combine the talents, know-how, and deep local understanding of our team with the influence of a worldwide real estate enterprise. Our unwavering focus on providing a premium buying and selling experience in Wānaka aligns perfectly with the values of this premium and innovative brand we’re now a part of.”

The process of rebranding the First National office to NZSIR is currently underway, transforming it into a recognizable name in New Zealand, acknowledged for its extensive national and global networks. The company initially launched in Queenstown back in 2005, and its national headquarters remains there.

Brown concludes, “Wānaka is among the most highly sought-after destinations in New Zealand, boasting exceptionally high-quality properties. These extraordinary properties demand outstanding marketing strategies, local expertise, and access to an international network of qualified buyers. We’re thrilled to be expanding these offerings within the Wānaka market.”
