Just one month after RE/MAX Global announced New Zealand business identity Don Ha’s acquisition of the Master Franchise for Fiji, the first new office for RE/MAX Fiji under the leadership of CEO Mr Ha and COO, Mala Maharaj, opens in Lautoka.
Heading the business, RE/MAX Tropics, is broker owner Paula Benn, a Lautoka resident for more than 23 years and a well-known and highly respected real estate agent with a presence of more than eight years in Lautoka and Nadi, who is also widely known for her involvement in many community projects to assist and empower the needy since January 2000.
RE/MAX Tropics offers experienced professional real estate services in residential, commercial, resorts, projects and property management.
Lautoka-born Mala Maharaj, Chief Operations Officer for RE/MAX New Zealand + Fiji, will be the main point of contact for the RE/MAX network in Fiji.
She said, “Picturesque Lautoka is the second largest city in Fiji and an area of growth and employment, and we expect growth in the RE/MAX Tropics team to reflect the growth we see in its marketplace.”
Mr Ha said the acquisition of the master franchise rights in the beautiful paradise of Fiji was a strategic move that marked a significant expansion of his company’s operations.
“This is an incredible opportunity to serve the growing real estate market in Fiji.
“It is an enormous honour to have Paula, with her wealth of experience – more than eight years and number 1 agent for a leading international brand, join our global brand and open the first Fiji office under our leadership.
“We invite you to experience a world-class real estate experience with RE/MAX Fiji and join us on this extraordinary journey as we unlock the door to this beautiful county’s real estate dreams together!”
Mr Ha said there would be a number of new RE/MAX offices opening in Fiji, with plans also for further expansion in the Pacific.
RE/MAX has more than 140,000 agents worldwide and the largest global footprint in over 110 countries and territories.
“Our expansion allows for great opportunities through reciprocal referral exchanges and broader global awareness campaigns,” he said.
“For buying and selling real estate in Fiji, RE/MAX delivers solutions and better outcomes; and for those interested in getting into real estate as a career, RE/MAX presents a different way of conducting business and offers intriguing possibilities.”
On 1st April 2020 – in the middle of the pandemic-fuelled lockdown – leading businessperson and acclaimed real estate industry professional, Don Ha acquired RE/MAX New Zealand, with Mala Maharaj joining the leadership team in a senior role. Under the leadership and guidance of Mr Ha and his team, RE/MAX New Zealand became a billion dollar plus company, which has tripled its worth in turnover in as many years.
Ms Maharaj is very passionate about bringing the RE/MAX opportunity to the people of Fiji and growing the real estate network there.
“What RE/MAX has given me, I give back to the people,” she said, “and with my family ties to Fiji, this is more than expanding into a new region, it is like a homecoming.”
